Why we're putting the 'missing' sex scenes back into Charlotte Brontë | Claire Siemaszkiewicz | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk
I honestly don’t care about endless reworkings of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights, whether they add sex or vampires or both. But I do find it ridiculous that so many people in the comments feel that anything remotely descriptive has no place in “Literature” (note the capital L — and yes, it’s pronounced lit-ra-chur). Not to mention the discovery that Desiree Holt is a 76-year old former competitive skier and fishing guide. Which only goes to show that little old ladies are one of the biggest untapped powers of the human race.
