Honestly, I find this equally distasteful as the sexed-up versions. Why are publishers following Hollywood in this leaning towards re-invention of old stuff? I love Northanger Abbey. I don’t love McDermid, but I don’t have anything against him. But I hate, hate, hate this idea. Really. Call me old-fashioned or something.
